This year's Bible Bowl season is complete!

Both primary teams did well enough during the regular season to compete in the STATE COMPETITION which took place on Sunday, March 16th, where the Livonia 5 Stones Team WON FIRST PLACE in the primary division. This is the second year in a row that a Livonia team has taken 1st place in the primary division.
For the Spirit Squad, this was their first year competing and they did well enough to get to the state competition. Everyone did very well throughout the season.  We are proud of each one of them and are looking forward to next year!

**Both teams will be going on to compete in the State Competition on Sunday, March 16th, at the Walled Lake Church of Christ.

*FIVE team members had PERFECT scores = 20 out of 20 questions correct! 

The 2014 topic of study is 'The Early Life of David' from
I Samuel, chapters 16 -31.

WHO can participate: 3rd-12th graders
WHERE are competitions: Gateway Church of Christ in Southgate
WHEN are the competition dates:

            January 19
            February 19
            March 9
            March 16 (State Finals)

Great Lakes Bible Bowl website

Our 2013 teams included 13 children, 4 coaches and 2 resource people. 
The teams are part of the Great Lakes Bible Bowl which is a scripture competition between teams of young people from area churches of Christ in Michigan. There are three divisions:
Primary (3rd through 5th Grades) 
Junior (6th – 8th Grades)  
Senior (9th – 12th Grades).
Each competition consists of rounds of 20 multiple choice questions per division.
At each competition, the first three teams in each division are awarded trophies. 

At the end of the "season" the top three Senior teams are awarded scholarship money to Rochester College.*

Also, at the end of the "season" the top three teams in each division are invited to compete in the state finals, with the first place teams receiving a week of Summer Camp at Michigan Christian Youth Camp.*
